Remembering Christmas Past

Who left Christ out of Christmas?
I wonder who it could be
Who did leave Christ out of Christmas
Own up now, was it you or maybe me?

Were you so busy wrapping presents?
And decorating your tree
That you forgot your brothers and sisters
Who still struggle in lands to be free

Did you spare a thought for the homeless?
With the lonely share some time
Or did you sit back rather smugly
And say "that’s their problem not mine"

Were you devouring a turkey?
Overeating on rich Christmas Pud
Thinking I haven’t done anything too bad
But did you do anything really good?

Who left Christ out of Christmas?
Who forgot this tiny baby who was born
Came on to this earth to save us
Treated with such apathy and scorn

So don’t leave Christ out of Christmas
Look inside yourself and see
Next time you’re asked the question
You can truly say "Not me".
