I think we are going to be travelling around for the 3 weeks around Easter - schools break up around the 5th - and we are planning to hopefully go to the lake Volta region, to Mole National Park (where I'll hopefully see my elephant at last!) and also some other places on the way and maybe a French speaking bordering country while we are at it - should be good! Can't believe we have been here for a month and a half already. Sometimes it feels a lot longer other times it's like we've hardly arrived, I just know that the time is going to really speed up so I have to fit as much in as I can before we go.

After school, we are trying to set up the library that the previous group started in the KG. We are going to try and have clubs like reading and homework and maybe have a story time too so that should be good. On an evening, Phil and I have been giving a few extra classes to some exam year students. He's been tutoring Maths and Science and I have done some French and that's been quite good fun. They're a good bunch and we usually end up playing ball or singing or something at the end so it's not all work. I think next weekend we are going to attempt to take the night train (8 or 9 hours long if running to time - ha ha!) to Takoradi, which is on the coast. I wanted to do it last night on the spur of the moment but I think the lads were probably wise to be a bit more reticent- it was poring with rain (we have the rainforest around us and it is approaching the rainy season) and there was no guarantee of getting tickets/places/knowing when the train would leave. Other than that...! So we'll see.

I think I'll leave it there for now unless I think of anything else to say. Except that its still hot (apparently about 35+ degrees but we have no TV so it's just what people say) and it just rains at night at the moment. Dunkwa is rather hilly and we are walking virtually everywhere so my legs are feeling it and the muscles are aching. They laugh at me because I'm like an old woman walking around - it's going to be fun when the rains come! Hope you are all well, take care, love and God bless

Anne-Marie xx

ps Don't worry if you don't hear from me ever - and know that the Cape Coast PO box is still good for reaching me. We were thinking of getting a PO Box in Dunkwa but it's debatable as to if it's going to be worth it. Don't worry that you don't have a contact address for me there though, we don't have a phone or internet and you only have an address if you have a PO Box. If ever there was anything wrong, you would hear from Sue Wintle or David from the Africa Trust and I can assure you that there are plenty of people around that are looking out for us - including the convent and the Catholic Mission House which are both 2 minutes up the road. love AMP x
