A reflection on Hope
We live in complicated and confusing times. We find ourselves in circumstances where it is not easy to face up to life. St. John tells us not to be troubled or afraid. It is now that we should have faith and trust in God. He will not ask us to do things that are beyond our capacity to cope with; difficulties in our daily lives. Our problem lies in our fears, which we have to face up to in our daily lives.
Unless we trust in God and know that he is with us every day of our lives and guides us on our ways we shall never know the peace and quiet that Jesus gained for us on the Cross.
We need strength to do battle against the destructive elements in our lives. God says "Come to me you who are heavily burdened and I will give you rest". Strength to battle against the devil and his works in this world of today is becoming so difficult that we must turn to God. He said, "Come to me you who are heavily burdened and I will give you peace and comfort". St. Paul says, "Be strong in the Lord, and he will give you the power to stand against the wiles of the Devil.
