Understanding the Gospels

Friday Afternoon Discussion Group - Newman Centre Lounge

Every Friday afternoon from about 3pm until around 4.45pm, our small group. which can number anything from 4 to 11, come together over tea or coffee and biscuits to look into the readings for the coming Sunday, particularly the Gospel
.
We try to understand the message(s) in each Gospel and discuss what they can mean for us and how they can help us to follow His example in our daily lives today. There is so much in the readings of both the Old and New Testament telling us many fascinating stories about how the Father speaks to us and in this way we can seek to deepen our faith and love of the Father, Son & Holy Spirit.

Obviously, being Friday afternoon not everyone can get along and it isn’t a must that everyone should attend every Friday, as and when is just fine. Deacon Tom leads the group in a meaningful but relaxed fashion and everyone who can get along will be made very welcome, so why not come along and give it a try?
