Seeing Your Life through the Lens of the Gospels - John 1:1-18

Read 42 Times

John 1:1-18

John the evangelist presents Jesus not merely as a historical figure, but as the eternal Word, present at creaion and one with God. John had lived with that Word and reclined on his breast at the last. Reflect on what it means to orient your entire life - your thoughts, priorities, and worship - around the eternal, divine Christ, rother than just temporary things.

The Gospel passage states that light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. Honestly consider the ‘darkness' in my own life and world. How can I actively turn toward this true light of Christ for guidance, hope, and moral clarity, trusting it can never be extinguished? Are prayer and sacraments important to me?

John notes that Christ came to his own, but his own did not receive him. Am I really actively receiving Christ through faith and obedience, or are there areas where his authority and grace in my life?

Jesus alone has made God known full of grace and truth. We are called not just to admire these qualities of grace and truth bit to embody them in our own wat of living. How can I extend Christ-like grace and mercy to others while also holding fast to his truth in a world that often separates the two?
