Some quotes from some children about the day.....

Victoria – ‘I was very nervous for the big event, there were so many people in church. I soon became excited. During the mass we sang lots of hymns and the holy Communion children took the offertory up to the altar. At the end of the Mass we had lots of photos taken and then celebrated in the school hall’.

Juliana –
‘The Last Supper was all about bread and wine, on Sunday I made my first holy Communion in Corpus Christi church and I received the bread and wine for the first time. I prayed to Jesus because he is the light of the world’.

Lawrence- ‘My first holy Communion was great. I had lots of family supporting me and had a lovely party, I want to thank the priest and teachers for supporting me too, I had a fantastic day’.

Year 6 Residential to Grinton Lodge
In June our Year 6 children spent a fantastic 3 days in Swaledale, North Yorkshire at Grinton Lodge for the annual residential. They experienced a variety of activities including hill walking, toasted marshmallows round a camp fire and a karaoke evening to end their stay. Wonderful positive comments from the staff at the lodge about behaviour and politeness making us all very proud once again. We had a very tired looking bunch when they eventually arrived back.

London Olympic Park

A second trip to London this year gave a group of children the chance to experience the ‘Go Run for Fun’ with four thousand children including another 4 Leeds Catholic Primary schools. It was a wonderful day and the weather was very kind to us all. The children saw quite a few famous people from various television programmes and did amazingly well on the fun run.
