The Mission
Our Mission will be launched by the visiting priests, Fr. Philip McGovern and Fr. Robert Sugg, at the 6:30 pm Mass on Saturday 23rd November. Come and join the priests and the Parish Community after the Mass in the Parish Centre. Food and drink will be available so come, meet the priests, talk to old acquaintances and make new friends.
On Sunday 24th November the visiting priests will be preaching at all the Masses, which will be at their usual times.
Every morning during the week, there will be a special ‘Workers’ Mass’ at 7.00 am. If you miss breakfast don’t worry, tea and toast will be on offer in the Parish Centre after Mass, to sustain you on your way to work.
At 12:15 pm every day during the week, there will be a lunchtime Mass followed by soup and rolls served in the Parish Centre.
On Wednesday, St John’s Church, Halton, will receive a visit from the mission priests at the 10:00 am Mass. Tea and toast will be provided afterwards.
Parish Exhibition
While in the Parish Centre, be sure to take a look at the Parish Exhibition. Here you will find displays from many of the groups in the Parish describing what they do and, if you like what you see, how you can get involved.
Mission Transport Service
If you need transport to attend the evening services, or know someone who does, why not take advantage of the Mission Transport Service? Contact Alan Robinson on (0113) 287 2682.
Evening Services
Every weekday evening, at 7:30 pm, there will be a specially prepared liturgy, each one based around a distinctive theme:
Monday 25th Nov – Theme – Love (service) & family life
Come and support the children of St. Theresa’s Catholic Primary School who are working very hard with their teachers and parents to launch our week of worship.
Tuesday 26th Nov – Theme – Peace/Unity
We welcome a return visit to our parish of the African Choir, who will help us to focus on the needs of the world.
Wednesday 27th Nov – Theme – Faith
This is a special opportunity to bring your cares to God and receive His healing love.
Thursday 28th Nov – Theme – Trust and Friendship
Come and give a warm St. Theresa’s welcome to some of our Christian friends from other churches in Leeds 15, who join us to praise God in song.
Friday 29th Nov – Theme – Understanding
This is the final night of our special mission liturgies, when the singing group ‘Hand in Hand’ will lead us in worship to celebrate the love and friendship that we have shared this week.
Light refreshments will be available after all evening services, providing further opportunities to meet old friends and make new ones.
