The last meeting about 15 - 20 attended. Split into 2 groups and both choose the topic of Confessions. It would be good to take this forward. - PARISH CENSUS 2025 FOR JUBILEE YEAR - New forms to be issued to update the current Parish Register. Also update the papers in the church porch. Forms to be returned to church and put into a sealed box, to keep the papers private.
- ANY OTHER BUSINESS - Bishop's visit went well and the meeting with the PPC members went well. It was a very relaxed meeting. Key messages given, parishes going forward to think about what it was like in the past and other countries. The possibility of parishes could be run, like in the past by laity. In the past people are used to be served and should now look at serving the church. We have too many buildings in the Diocese, and we should be looking at coming together in one church rather across many churches. The lay people should be doing more and assisting the priest allowing the priest to do what he has been ordained to do. Plans should be done to implement things. We need to get more young families into church.
Take time to move on and see how the Faith Alive group goes. Possible meet every week which maybe smaller group meeting.
Bishop Marcus also attended Fr Rino's Syro Malankara Mass.
Laudato Si' Mini-Pilgrimage from Leeds Cathedral to Kirkstall Abbey, May 31 @ 12:00 pm - 4:30 pm Starting this Jubilee Year, we're bringing back our Laudato Si' Mini Pilgrimages and events: one for each ‘Season of Creation'! For Spring, and beginning with the 12Noon Mass at Leeds Cathedral, we will walk along the canal towpath to Kirkstall Abbey.
