Hello All
From when I sent you the bulletin last Friday we have permission to open our churches for private prayer ONLY.
We are looking at working out a programme to open the churches for 2 hours a day if we have sufficient volunteers to steward the church and clean between people visiting.
The people who can NOT help are those:
- Who have any underlying health problems
- Had a letter from the government asking them to stay at home and stay safe
- Living with someone who has underlying health problems
If you are able to help and DO NOT fall into one of these categories can you please let me know as soon as possible.
You can also help if you are under 18 years of age but you must attend with and adult from your household.
The Diocese is providing PPE for our use. We are awaiting this to arrive.
The toilets will be out of use.
It has been advised we can open the church doors from 15th June BUT we must have the volunteers in place before this can happen.
We do not have to open our churches as this is not compulsory but it would be nice to give people an opportunity to pray inside church privately even for only a short time during the week.
We are looking at a programme as follows at this moment in time but if it is required then we can look at extending the time subject to volunteers.
St Theresa's - 10.30am to 12.30pm
Monday - Wednesday- Friday - Saturday
St Gregory's - 10.30am - 12.30pm
Tuesday
Corpus Christi - 10.30am - 12.30pm
Thursday
On a Sunday to allow people to watch the livestreaming of Mass it is suggested we open our churches for 2 hours each in the afternoons
St Theresa's - 2.00pm - 4.00pm
Corpus Christi - 3.00pm - 5.00pm
St Gregory's - 4..0pm - 6.00pm
During all these times there will be NO SERVICES OF ANY KIND. This also includes NO Confessions. This just is only for people to attend a church for private prayer.
The priests will be around the churches but not for any Sacraments.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Mary
