We all know the story of the "Good Samaritan" who came to the help of the traveller who had been attacked and beaten by robbers and left for dead on the roadway. However, what do we know about the two men who passed by on the other side?

After passing by the injured traveller, one of the two men caught up with the other and they began to talk about their experience. The first man said, "This roads getting worse, do you know that's the third one I've had to pass today and it's not even noon yet." His companion replied, "I've had the same experience, only yesterday I passed a whole family lying in the road, some people have no consideration, do you know I had to get down off my donkey and stride over them and there's never a Roman soldier about when you need one."

They both decided that the whole experience was quite stressful and when they came to an inn, they went inside for a glass of wine. They were on their third glass when the Samaritan entered with the injured man they had seen earlier and ordered some food and a room for him.

"This is quite disgraceful," said one of them, "This used to be a respectable inn and now this Samaritan fellow in bringing in people he found lying in the roadway, and it's just not good enough."

They had another glass of wine before deciding that the next morning they would approach the authorities to complain about the number of people they had found littering the highway.

Yes indeed, where will it all end? There are always some people who see where help is needed and give it to the best of their ability. Then there are others who never get beyond saying, "This just isn't good enough, someone ought to do something about it."

There are two types of people in this world today. Those who come into a room and say, "Well here I am." And then there are those that say, "Ah, there you are."
