Which One Of These Are You?

Read 1110 Times
There is a story told of a man out walking his dog one day, when he fell into a hole and couldn't get out. Various people came along and seeing him trapped offered the following advice:-

The first, a subjective person came along and said, "I know just how you must feel down there." The second, an objective person said, "Well, it's logical that eventually somebody would fall down that hole." A passing Pharisee said, "Only bad people fall into holes." A judgmental Christian said, "You're a sinner and deserve to be in that hole." A realist said, "Now that is what I would call a really deep hole." A geologist told him that he should look around the hole and appreciate any rock strata that he could see. A tax inspector looked down and asked him if he was paying any taxes on the hole. A self-pitying person said, "You haven't seen anything yet, I've been in far bigger holes than that in my life." An optimist came by and said, "don't worry things could be worse." He was followed by a pessimist who told him, "Things are bound to get worse it could begin to rain soon." Then Jesus passed by and seeing the unfortunate man down the hole, he reached down, took him by the hand and lifted him out
.
Jesus ends his famous parable about the good Samarian, by telling us to go and do likewise. How many people do we know that could do with a helping hand out of some hole they find themselves in? Our help and encouragement could make a real difference in someone's life, so we should all try hard to become students of people and their various needs.

Help us all to look for and find You in others. So permit me to live my life in such a fashion that others may look for and find You in me.
