School ClipartPossible New School! Well! We are getting a new school. It is now official and plans are being put in place, as I speak to you, to build a purpose built two-form entry school on the existing site at St. Theresa's. We obviously have very mixed feelings about this because we love our ‘big' school and we will lose many of the brilliant facilities that we currently enjoy, like the massive hall and the stage. But what we will get is a school fit for the 21st century which will be on two floors not three. We will hopefully have a dedicated sacred space where we will be able to take some of our legacy items across from our existing chapel. The building work is scheduled to start in December 2017 and it is proposed that it will take about a year to complete with a possible handover in January 2019. Exciting times indeed.

Whitby 2017: The Year 6s are very excited about their residential to Whitby which is in the w/c 12th June 2017. This year we have opted to go back to the summer term for our residential as the September experiment last year was not as successful as we hoped. This is much more of a reward for all their phenomenal hard work this year. Their SATs results will be out in early July and we have our fingers crossed that they do as well as we think they should have done.

First Holy Communion ClipartFirst Holy Communion Programme: We had a fabulous First Holy Communion programme this year and our young people in Year 3 were magnificent. At the time of writing we have had two beautiful celebrations so far with a third to come at Corpus Christi. These really are days which make us all proud to be part of the BJHN parish community. Thank you for making them such special home/school and parish events.

Comings and Goings: We will say a sad farewell to Mrs Keighley in the Nursery this year as she has decided to retire in August. Mr Ryan will also be leaving us after his year in Year 5. We are looking forward to welcoming Miss Dodd to the school and she will go into Year 5. We also hope Miss Acharya will be staying with us which will be fabulous too. Mrs Miller will also be coming back in September after her maternity leave.

Until next time, yours in Christ;
John Hutchinson, Head
