This term the Guides have been working towards a badge they have chosen in their patrols called a "Go For It". The Go For Its chosen were Communication and Globalistic. They have done a variety of activities to gain the badge including making mosaics using crackers, cheese spread, grapes and ham. Some of the Guides made a batch of German biscuits with icing. They looked and smelled wonderful but seemed to disappear before the leaders could complete a taste test. A cheerleader for the Edinburgh ice hockey team helped one of the patrols to perform a routine with the help of a few pom poms.

The communication patrol have being writing articles about Guides, trying to communicate using plastic cups and string, code breaking and making world fridge magnets with salt dough.

trefoil plantingGirl Guides gain a Challenge badge for every year they are at Guides when they complete a variety of badge activities including completing some community service. This year we have decided to develop a Guide garden as part of their community service. A small grassed area at the side of the car park at St. Theresa's church is being transformed into a display of colour for all to enjoy. The girls have been litter picking in the car park, cutting grass, shaping the area to be planted and finally planting the Guide trefoil symbol. We hope to develop this small area throughout the year so it is always a colourful part of the garden.

As we move towards the end of the summer term the Guides are looking forward to the bowling tournament, swimming and 4 D crazy golf.

If you would like to join us in September use either of the contacts above.
