What Is Heaven

Read 1177 Times
Sorry, but today’s is a sad little story.

One day in school, seven year old David was asked by his teacher what he thought Heaven would be like. The little lad stood up and replied, “I think it will be something like this in Heaven. One day when we all go to Heaven, it will time for the big white angel to read from the big book the names of all the people who will be there. Eventually, he will come to the Rogers family and call out “Daddy Rogers,” and dad will say, “Here,” then the angel will call out, “Mummy Rogers,” and mum will say, “Here.” Then he will call out, “Susie Rogers,” and she will say, “Here.” He paused, took a deep breath and continued, “Finally the angel will read out my name, “David Rogers,” but because I’m so small he may miss me, so I’ll jump up and down and shout in a really loud voice, “Here,” just to make sure he knows I’m there.”

Just a few days later, on his way to catch the school bus, little David was hit by a speeding car and badly injured. He was rushed to hospital by ambulance, where the doctors had to perform emergency surgery. After the operation the family gathered by his bedside, only to be told by the surgeon, that he had done everything he could, but it was unlikely that the little lad would survive the night. The family waited and prayed, and then in the early morning the little boy appeared to be stirring into consciousness. He opened his eyes, looked around and then in a loud clear voice he said one word, “Here” and then he died.

Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they
follow me.
For I will give them eternal life and they shall never perish.”
