All Your Wishes Are Granted.

Read 914 Times
Todayís little story tells us what can happen when we wish for the wrong things and all our wishes are granted.

A young man was walking along the beach with his dog, when his dog spotted a green bottle lying on the sand, wagging his tail with delight the dog ran up to his master and dropped the bottle at his feet. The man picked the bottle up, noticed the cork was still in it, so he shook the bottle to see if anything was inside, it appeared to be empty, then out of curiosity he removed the cork and out pops a genie. The genie looks at him and says, "Thank you for releasing me itís awfully uncomfortable in there, and for your kindness I will grant you three wishes." "Thatís great," said the young man, "But could I have a moment or two to think about what I would like." A couple of minutes later he said, "For my first wish I would like a billion pounds deposited into a Swiss bank account." Phoof! There is a blinding flash of light and a Swiss bank book appears in the young manís hand. "This is great," he said, "Now for my second wish, I would like a bright red Ferrari." Phoof! Again there is a flash of light and a Ferrari sports car appears on the sand next to him. The young man thinks to himself, now Iíve got plenty of money and a flash car, all thatís missing is lots of beautiful women. So he continues, "Finally, I would like to be made absolutely irresistible to all women everywhere"

There is another Phoof! And a flash of light and suddenly the young man is turned into a large box of chocolates, complete with a beautiful blue ribbon.

Yes! We may all smile, as we pop another chocolate into our mouths.

But the moral of this little tale and the young manís downfall, was surely the selfish nature of all his wishes. But we too are selfish sometimes and our first wish should always be, to ask for Godís forgiveness in our lives.

"The one important thing to be learned over the years, is the difference
between taking oneís work seriously and taking oneís self seriously."
"The first is imperative and the second is always disastrous."
