St. Theresa’s Retirement Club

Read 3493 Times
Next year, St. Theresa's Retirement Club will have been established for 25 years. Set up in 1991 with the approval of the Parish Priest, the late Canon Tangney, and a small group of volunteers, the club has gone from strength to strength with an average weekly attendance of 80 and a full membership of 105.

The aim of the club was, and still is, to provide social recreation for retired members and we are very fortunate to have four of the founder members still with us and taking an active part.

The 1:15pm Monday Mass was especially timed to enable our members to attend before the meeting begins at 2:00pm.

Over the years, in addition to the members of our own three churches, we have been joined by members of other churches who readily take part in the various activities, music, dancing, days out to the coast and country and, the highlight of the year, the Christmas Party.

We are open to new members from September onwards. We meet from 2:00pm to 4pm each Monday at the Newman Centre.
