The Parish Community of Blessed John Henry Newman has a flourishing Credit Union that has been established in East Leeds since 1995. Our Common Bond area comprises of the individual Parish boundaries of St.Gregory's, St.Theresa's and Corpus Christi.

St.Gregory's Credit Union is a financial co-operative and membership is open to anyone residing in the parish communities of Blessed John Henry Newman.

The Credit Union offers Savings Deposits for Members, starting at £1 up to a maximum limit of £15,000, and funds can be accessed at any time.

Members normally receive an Annual Interest Dividend, subject to a successful year.
The Credit Union offers Loans to its Members at very competitive rates of
interest, subject to status, with any Loan application being considered after a period of 13 weeks regular saving.

SO AVOID the likes of WONGA /BRIGHT HOUSE / PROVIDENT and UNLICENSED LOAN SHARKS whose rates of interest are ridiculous!!

Membership Shareholding is completely safe, and St. Gregory's Credit Union Ltd is regulated by the FSA (Financial Services Authority) and all Members Savings are protected by the FCS (Financial Compensation Scheme) and any Loans taken out by Members are covered by Insurance.

We are members of the UKCU (United Kingdom Credit Unions) national organisation, an independent body who look after Member Credit Unions interests.

St.Gregory's Credit Union Ltd has a duty of care to protect the interests of our loyal members at all times. The Credit Union is managed by the Board of Directors acting as the Credit Union Management Board and they meet on a monthly basis, and their commitment is on a completely voluntary basis, and they are supported by other Volunteer Associates.
