Friday Youth Club

Read 1013 Times
The last twelve months have been very positive and encouraging. Our young people continue to enjoy this opportunity to chill and meet up with friends old and new in a relaxed and friendly environment.

We have over 80 names on our role but fortunately they don't all attend at the same time. Some can go weeks between visits. The majority that attend are boys although we have a contingent of girls who attend very regularly. The age of those who attend ranges between 11 and 14 years.

Table Tennis is the most popular of the activities we offer – other activities include pool, badminton, tennis and board games plus listening to music.

The club could not possibly operate without the commitment and enthusiasm of the adults that volunteer their time on a Friday evening; we need four per session.

For personal reasons two of our stalwart volunteers had to give up helping this year.

Thankfully we have managed to recruit two new volunteers but others would be welcome so those that have helped for many years may also have the opportunity to stand down.

We are thankful to the parish for allowing us to use the Newman Centre facility.
