The role of the altar server is one of service and leadership and at St Gregory’s we are blessed with a dedicated team of servers.
Over the past year Ellie, Isong and Jodie have faithfully assisted at Holy Mass and set an example in their dedication.

Lucy joined in March 2013 adding to our number.

Many thanks to their parents as well.

So far we have been working on “Back to the Basics” programme, so we get things right. Every week we revisit topics like:

Posture
The order of the mass
Mass attendance

A rota is produced quarterly so everyone knows what they are doing.
Over the next year we look forward to:

Gaining new members
Introducing a training and reference manual
Developing the 100 mass awards
Taking part in altar server events across Leeds diocese
All boys and girls who have made their First Communion are welcome to join.

This is a wonderful learning experience for young members of our parish. They learn about their faith and take on responsibility.
