40 Hours Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Read 1986 Times
Every weekend in the year different parishes in our Diocese are asked to hold a time of Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. In this way prayer for the Church and for our world’s needs is always being offered to God. The Mission in July showed us the power of the prayer of Adoration and the fruits it can yield for us. Next weekend is our parish’s time for Adoration. It will be held in St Theresa’s Church as follows:
Friday 7.00pm Opening Mass followed by Adoration ending with night prayer at 10.00pm
Saturday 9.00am Morning Prayer, then Adoration until the Angelus at 12.00 noon
1.00pm Young people’s Holy Hour; Adoration then until 5.30pm, concluding with Evening Prayer
Sunday 7.00am Adoration all day, except during morning Masses, until a Holy Hour at 4.00pm followed by Solemn Benediction to conclude the time of Exposition and Adoration.
All parishioners are warmly invited to come and spend some of this time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. Please sign up on the lists at the Churches so that every hour has several people in Church for Adoration. There will be some leaflets and other helps to prayer available in Church. We hope to dedicate particular times to prayer for different intentions and for the different groups active in the parish. More information in the porch of your Church.
YOUNG PEOPLE’S LUNCH & HOLY HOUR:
Saturday 22nd September: 12.30pm lunch in the Newman Centre (free of charge!), followed by a holy hour (led music, reflection and silence) from 1-2pm, as part of the parish 40 hours devotion to the Blessed Sacrament.
Everybody welcome!
