At the request of Bishop Marcus we have been asked to hold a Mission Appeal and second collection for the Society of African Missions (SMA). Over the weekend of the 16th & 17th February we will have 2 priests from the SMA Fathers with us who will give a talk about their work.


Funeral Service for Shelagh Mary Cooper on Monday 11th February at 1.40pm at Lawnswood Crematorium.


For all those who have lost a baby before, during, or shortly after birth for any reason or early infancy.

Prayer for healing
God bless those who have lost a child.
Heal their hurting, aching hearts, and cradle them in Your arms.
God give them peace, whose child is now with You, and joy in knowing they will reunite someday.

Our parish is participating in Baby Loss Matters, an initiative by the national pro-life charity LIFE, to create memorial spaces in churches across the country to commemorate to lives of those lost before, during, or shortly after birth for any reason. There are a few prayer cards, as well as details of support services in the church porch.


Annual Pilgrimage Raffle: You were asked last weekend to take a book of raffle tickets to sell to your family & friends for the pilgrimage fund. Thank you to all who took books. Please return you counterfoils and money into the box in each church porch. The draw will be on Sunday 3rd March during the tea & coffee after the 8.15am Mass. The first prize will be £300 cash and there are many other good prizes. If you know anyone who would benefit from a pilgrimage to Lourdes please give your Nominations to any priest or Mary in the office.


"Time to Talk" is the parish listening service for the lonely, anxious, depressed or anyone who has something they need to talk about. Our volunteers are trained by Samaritans. We don't judge or advise, but we offer a sympathetic and confidential service.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Children in Year 3 are invited to make their First Reconciliation (Confession) in the parish on 27th or 28th March. Before this they will have to attend preparation lessons after school. To explain the programme there will be a meeting for ALL their parents om Tuesday 12th February at Corpus Christi primary school OR on Wednesday 13th February at St Theresa's primary school.
Both meeting will start at 7pm and led by Fr Pat Wall. Letters have been sent to year 3 parents of baptised children.
Parents of children in Year 3 who attend none catholic schools are asked to contact the parish office so the parents can attend one of the above meetings and the children can be included on the preparation course.

Sacrament of the Eucharist (First Holy Communion)

Children in Year 4 who have made their First Reconciliation will be invited to make their First Holy Communion in June 2019. The parents of these children
will be invited to attend a meeting at the end of April and letters for this will be sent out at the end of March and the preparation will start after the Easter holiday.

Children in Year 4 who have not made their First Reconciliation are asked to contact the parish office as soon as possible as they will need to attend BOTH
preparation courses.

CARITAS LEEDS is organising a Mass for People Living with Disabilities, their families and friends at Leeds Cathedral on Sunday 3rd March 2019, at 3pm. More details see the poster.
