St. Theresas Magic Garden opens

Read 2084 Times
St Theresa’s Catholic Primary School were delighted to welcome Mr George Mudie MP to school on Friday, 25 June 2010 to open the school’s Magic Garden.

This wonderful addition to the school outdoor play provision had been the brainchild of Mrs Jane Ryan who coordinated the project. She secured a SureStart Grant and then worked in collaboration with Ian Chadwick at Leeds City Council Parks and Countryside dept to see the project through to completion.

The children and staff were involved in the design process and the planning for the project has been used as a model for other schools to follow. We are absolutely delighted with the outcome of this initiative and look forward to it helping generations of children to become more physically active and develop a love for the outdoors.

If readers want any information about how the project was funded and/or organised then please feel free to contact Jane Ryan at St Theresa’s on 0113 2930240.
