'HAPPY THE PURE IN HEART, THEY SHALL SEE GOD’
Read 1567 Times
Today as we celebrate the Feast of All saints our minds are challenged to look towards our future. The Saints are those who have gone before us ’marked with the sign of faith’ and enjoy the vision of God himself. Our lives have many challenges and each day is a response to a crisis or just the humdrum acceptance of a normal routine. However now and again we are startled by the death of a friend or loved one which sounds like a wake up call for us to take stock of where we are going and decide what our priorities are.
In remembering the Saints we are reminded that that is the reason for our existence. 'Our true home is Heaven what we are to be in the future has not been revealed. All we know is that when it is revealed we shall be like Him and see Him as He really is.'
As you sit and think about these ideas have a look at the priorities in your life and see where they are leading you? What are you aiming at? Imagine you are walking along a narrow path that stretches out in the distance. Will that path lead you to Christ or to the accumulation of worldly wealth? Put it another way if God called you today are you ready to go home to Heaven?
We live each day a breath away from eternity. We can’t stay here forever. We will be called sooner or later, prepare for sooner!
O GOD, MAY EVERY BREATH THAT I DRAW, ESPECIALLY MY LAST, BE AN ACT OF LOVE FOR YOU.
Happy Feast day
Fr.Phil
