Crossgates
Faith in the City
A parish community in East Leeds are on a mission to build their parish community.
While missions are usually associated with religious activity abroad St Theresa's parish in Crossgates have devised a mission for themselves. Rather than going out of the parish the community have plans to build on their faith in the city.
Based around the themes of Love, Peace, Faith, Trust and Understanding the parish community with the support of visiting priests are holding a week of special events to rebuild faith in their corner of East Leeds.
The missionaries for this event will include the visiting priest but also members of the parish community, children from the local school and an African choir. Throughout the week of 23rd November to 1st December special services are being held to focus on one of the themes. Services are being arranged for early mornings for hardworking commuters, during the day and every evening, ensuring that none of the 1000 plus parishioners misses out. Each evening’s service will be led by a group from within the parish.
The mission is also reaching out to other Christian denominations in the area who are being invited to join the events.
