Mission to Mission

A Leeds church is matching their mission to raise money for a Church in Ghana with a mission to rally the faithful, supported by a Leeds based African choir.

St Theresa's Catholic Church in Crossgates has for some time had a link with a parish in Ghana and has pledged to support the African community build a new Church. As part of the arrangement Ghanaian link-man Peter Tsakpo is bringing his African choir to the Parish during their week long mission to re-invigorate the faith of worshippers in the east Leeds parish. The choir will be the main feature of one of the evening services to be held each day during the mission.

The mission led by visiting priests, has been put together by members of the parish with the themes of Love, Peace, Faith, Trust and Understanding at the core. Each day during the week 23rd November to 1st December the parish will see additional services exploring one of the themes.

The idea behind the mission is to strengthen the parish community and to bear witness to their faith in the Leeds. The mission hopes to reach all sections of the community, as different days will feature different groups including children from the parish school. Members of other Christian denominations are being invited to join the celebration of faith.
